GamePlan-4-Sports Antimicrobial Treatment at Detroit Lions practice facility

We documented the application process, from surface and air quality testing to application of EPA registered products, mPerial® Detergent/Disinfectant and mPale® Antimicrobial with ÆGIS Microbe Shield® technology.

Pioneer and mPact Environmental Solutions arrived at the Detroit Lions practice facility early on a Friday morning. The first step in the process was to completely clear all items on tables, floors and in lockers. Areas to be treated were the players locker room, the players lounge, coaches locker rooms, and various pads and training equipment.

Pre-Testing

The mPact crew then completed pre-testing to determine the presence of microbial contamination. Touch surfaces are tested by collecting number of samples around the facility, chosen at random. This day, we tested a chair where players sit to relax and play cards, a player's locker, the countertop where players get their mail and e-mail, and a coach's locker. An air quality test was also performed and along with the samples from the touch surfaces, they are sent to an independent laboratory for processing.

mPerial® Detergent/Disinfectant

The next step was to meticulously clean and vaccum the floors and each locker in preparation for disinfection with mPerial® Detergent/Disinfectant. mPerial is EPA registered and works in unison with the complete family of mPact products. It kills germs, works across a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and viruses and is proven effective against Norovirus (Norwalk virus), Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), HIV-1, and Vancomycin intermediate resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (VISA). Every touch surface in the entire facility was wetted with mPerial and hand-wiped. The floor was sprayed with mPerial as well.

mPale® Antimicrobial with ÆGIS Microbe Shield®

All surfaces and equipment were then ready for comprehensive electrostatic spray with mPale@ Antimicrobial with ÆGIS Microbe Shield® technology. mPale is an EPA registered antimicrobial. It controls or eliminates the growth of a wide range of bacteria, mold and mildew - and the odors and stains caused by them.

Post-Testing

After clean-up and sealing off the treated area, the mPact crew returned the next day to perform post-testing procedures. These tests are also sent to and independent lab for processing.

Pioneer and mPact will be back at the Lions facility again in the near future to apply the GamePlan-4-Sports system to other parts of the facility.
